D.C. Boothby, 92, lifelong Texhoma, OK resident, passed away Tuesday evening, April 19, 2022 at The Arbors in Amarillo, TX.
The son of Daniel Calvin Boothby, Sr. and Susie Pearl (Sweet) Boothby, he was born, March 10, 1930 at their home on 2nd street in Texhoma, OK. D.C. attended school in Texhoma, graduating with the Class of 1948. He then attended the University of Oklahoma in Norman, and was an avid Oklahoma Sooner Fan.
He was united in marriage to Jewell Holt on August 19, 1950 in Dumas, TX, they had three children: Susie Clay and husband, Dave Cann of Cedar Hill, TX, daughter, Janie Trammell and husband, Clif of Texhoma, OK, son, Laddie Boothby and wife, Myra of Canyon, TX; grandchildren: Sara Clay and husband, D.J. DeBusman, Mitch Trammell and wife, Valerie, Brent Trammell and wife, Emily, Bethany Hager and husband, Terrence, Heath Boothby and wife, Samantha, Jeremy Boothby and wife, Maricruz, Heather Hall and husband, Kyle, and Adam Boothby. Great grandchildren: Parker, Morgan and Carter, Evelyn and Marcus, Quinn and Burke, and Stevie, Michaela, Adam-Abel, Emma and Vos.
D.C. and Delta Reed were married on January 1, 1970 in Clayton, New Mexico. He was a member of the Texhoma First Christian Church, and a Red Devil supporter, and enjoyed fishing, especially at Eagle Nest, NM.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dan and Susie; his wife, Delta on March 7, 2022; two children, Susie Clay and Laddie Boothby; and four brothers: Dick, Ray, Frank and Richard; grandchildren, Megan Sue Trammell, Rusty and Brock Harkins; and great grandchildren, Derrek Hager and Baird Clifton Trammell.
Survivors include six children: Janie Trammell and husband, Clif of Texhoma, Rick Harkins and wife, Carmen of Chandler, OK, Vicky Porter and husband, Bill of Spearman, TX, Randy Harkins and wife, Teresa of Chandler, OK, Rhonda Hildebrand and husband, Kent of Midwest City, OK, and Rodney Harkins and wife, Machelle of Guymon. Survivors also include 18 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren, one great great grandchild, and a sister-in-law, Loveda Boothby of Norman, OK.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday morning, April 30th at 10:00 a.m. at the Texhoma First Christian Church with Rev. Matt Maples officiating. Interment will follow in the Texhoma Cemetery.
Memorials in memory of D.C. will be accepted for the Texhoma Ambulance Department. Memorials will be accepted at the city office or the Bunch – Roberts Funeral Home, P.O. Box 1112, Guymon, Oklahoma 73942. Friends can sign the online guest book and leave condolences at www.bunchroberts.com.
