William Lewis “Billy” Green, 46, lifelong Guymon resident, passed away Saturday, September 25, 2021 at the Memorial Hospital of Texas County in Guymon, Oklahoma.
The son of Frankie and Audrey (Smith) Green, he was born August 3, 1975 in Hollis, Oklahoma.
Billy attended school in Guymon, graduating with the Class of 1993. He then attended OSU Institute of Technology, graduating with an associate degree in diesel mechanics. The majority of his working life he was a diesel mechanic for Five Star Equipment in Guymon. Billy was a member of the Guymon Church of Christ.
He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, William Lawrence and Julia Evaline Smith, paternal grandparents, W.L. and Nettie Beth Green, and uncle and aunt, David A. and Judy Mae Welch.
He is survived by his parents, Frankie and Audrey Green of Guymon; sister, Julie Wehrly and husband, Sean of Amarillo, Texas; nephew, John Wehrly of Amarillo; uncles and aunts: Phyllis and Jess C. Epple of Warner, Oklahoma, Elizabeth Jones of Goodwell, Arlene Shipley of Amarillo and Beth and Philip Tay of Lubbock, Texas. Survivors also include cousins: Debbie & Boyd Hughes of Raymore, Missouri, Kandi & Ken Herring of Nashville, Tennesee, David & Maria Welch of Fairfield, California, Rhonda & Tim Hintergardt of Guymon, Gregory Jones of Goodwell, Charley & Melissa Shipley of Bushland, Texas, Jeffry & Christina Shipley of Amarillo, Texas, Jared Shipley of Amarillo, Texas, Liz Tay of Lubbock, Texas, and numerous other cousins.
Family visitation will be Wednesday evening, September 29th between the hours of 5:00 and 7:00 p.m. at the Bunch – Roberts Funeral Home.
Family graveside services will be Thursday morning, September 30th at 10:00 a.m. at the Goodwell Cemetery in Goodwell, Oklahoma. A Celebration of Life memorial service will be Thursday at 2:00 p.m. at the Guymon Church of Christ with Sam Collins officiating.
Memorials in memory of Billy may be given to the High Plains Children’s Home in Amarillo. Memorials will be accepted at the Bunch – Roberts Funeral Home, P.O. Box 1112, Guymon, Oklahoma 73942.
