Robert Wesley Marr Sr., 87, passed away Wednesday August 16, 2023 at his home in Guymon.
The son of John Wesley and Lois Augusta (Blenis) Marr, he was born December 13, 1935 in Sidney, New York. He graduated from High School in Sidney. Immediately after graduating, he served 20 years in the US Air Force achieving the rank of Tech Sgt. During his service he was stationed at many different places including Greenland, Turkey, Germany and the Phillipines. He also served 2 of his years as clerk/typiest for the USAF Thunderbirds.
Robert moved to Texhoma from Lincoln, Nebraska in 2008 and from Texhoma to Guymon in 2021.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Wesley and Lois Marr and one step-daughter, Julie Prusia.
Survivors include his three children: Lois Jean Cannon of Yukon, OK, Robert Wesley Marr Jr of Enid, OK and Maxynne Marr of Guymon; bonus child, Gus Kruse their brother of Melbourne, FL, and four step-children: Richard Marr of Roswell, New Mexico, : Keith Marr and wife, Sandy of Ferndale, Washington, Kim Heye of Texas and Cindy Crouse of Omaha, Nebraska. Survivors also include a sister, Gladys Wickham of New York; many grandchildren including: Scott Burdge, Alan Burdge, Brandon Burdge, Geoff Cannon, Geonn Cannon, R.T. Marr, Rebecca Marr and Robyn Marr; numerous great grandchildren including, Elisha Burdge, Thomas Burdge, Samuel Burdge, Maverick Burdge and Winston Burdge.
Family visitation will be Friday, August 25th between the hours of 5:00 and 8:00 p.m. at Bunch – Roberts Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday afternoon, August 26th at 2:00 p.m. at Bunch – Roberts Chapel with Rev. David Jenkins officiating. Interment with military honors will follow in the Elmhurst Cemetery.
Memorials in lieu of flowers may be given to the American Legion or the NRA. Memorials will be accepted at Bunch – Roberts Funeral Home, P.O. Box 1112, Guymon, OK 73942.
