Paul Christopher Garcia, Sr., of Guymon, passed away Tuesday, November 30, 2021 at his home.
The son of Lorraine Wiekel, he was born August 15, 1944 in Dumas, Texas, he was an American Indian, member of the Ohkay Owingeh Pueblo tribe. Paul was raised by his grandparents, Lorenzo and Ignacita (Cata) Garcia. He was united in marriage to Madonna Sue Cook on October 12, 1963 in Dumas, Texas.
Paul served in the US Army and enjoyed working after his service time. He worked for Adams Hardfacing in Guymon, and OPSU in Goodwell. He enjoyed his time at the school and soon after became an Aggies Fan. He continued his service as a US postal carrier in which he truly enjoyed working for many years, and eventually enjoyed his retirement. Paul was a man who expressed his love through sarcasm, spending time together and watching Dallas Cowboys football. He enjoyed fishing, sports, and spending time with family and friends.. Never seeing himself as an influential person, but having great hopes, and dreams for his children, and grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He will be missed, leaving many memories, and his distinctive laugh.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Lorraine Wiekel, his parents, Lorenzo and Ignacita Garcia, one son, Michael Ray Garcia, brothers and sister, Alfred Garcia, Junior Garcia, Gilbert Garcia and Mary Helen Eastland.
Survivors include his wife, Madonna Sue Garcia of the home, sons, Paul Christopher Garcia, Jr. of Ada, and William Zeke Garcia of Guymon, two daughters, Jacqueline Dawn Garcia of Tulsa, and Sherri Dennett and husband, Donnie of Oklahoma City. Survivors also include one brother, Pete Garcia and wife, Hope of Guymon, three sisters, Francis Moorehead and husband, James of Phoenix, Arizona, Manuelita Chamblee and husband, Jerry of Guymon, and Mary Johnson of Fritch, Texas, and fifteen grandchildren: Crystal Finch, Michael Ray Garcia, Jr., Sabin Jimenez, Levi Padilla, Kabrin Garcia, Michael C. Garcia, Afton Juan Garcia, Brienna Marie Garcia, Miesha Gonzales, Nikeo Garcia, William Zeke Garcia, Jr., Dallas Jasmine Garcia, Michael Paul Dennett, Roman Dennett and Tony Dennett.
Memorial services will be conducted Monday afternoon, December 6th at 2:00 p.m. at the Bunch – Roberts Chapel with Rev. Odie Nunley officiating. Family inurnment will be in the Elmhurst Cemetery. Services are under the care of the Bunch – Roberts Funeral Home of Guymon.
