Cleta R. Edens, 81, of Tecumseh, Oklahoma passed away Friday, June 01, 2018 in Shawnee.
She was born April 21, 1937 to C.T. and Amanda Stowers in Friona, Texas.
Cleta was raised in Friona and graduated with the class of 1953 from Friona High School.
She married A.D. Edens on March 25, 1955 in Friona, Texas and he preceded her in death on January 5, 1997.
After marriage she lived in Guymon and Canadian, Oklahoma and later moved back to Guymon where along with her husband they owned and operated a fertilizer spreading operation for many years. She later worked for Walmart for 20 years until her retirement.
Cleta was a member of Sharon Baptist Church and Grace Southern Baptist Church in Guymon. She loved to sew and help.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, A.D. Edens; and granddaughter, Tiffany Dawn Jones.
Cleta is survived by 2 daughters, Amanda K. Derrick of Tecumseh, OK and Toni Cobo of Tecumseh, OK; son, Danny Edens of Oklahoma City, OK; 4 grandchildren, Taniel, Jaclyn, Trae and Brody; 9 great-grandchildren; and other extended family and friends.
Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Sunday, June 3, 2018 and continue through service time. Service will be 2:00 p.m., Monday, June 4, 2018 at Sharon Baptist Church with Reverend Clint Dawkins, Sharon Baptist Church officiating. Graveside service will be at 12:00 noon, Tuesday, June 5, 2018 at Elmhurst Cemetery in Guymon, OK under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
