Christopher Dimmitt, 49, lifelong Guymon resident passed away unexpectedly on Saturday evening, June 3, 2023 at the Memorial Hospital of Texas County.
Christopher Anthony Leroy Dimmitt was born on October 23, 1973, in Guymon, Oklahoma, the first son of Carl and Cindi (Calhoun) Dimmitt. He was a student at Edison School and attended First Baptist Church as a child. He participated in Special Olympics and won medals in the softball throw.
Chris was a long-term client of the Panhandle Area Sheltered Workshop. One of his favorite activities with family was visiting and feeding the ducks at Sunset Lake.
He is survived by his parents, Carl and Cindi Dimmitt, of Guymon; siblings, Joey of Guymon, Ruthie of Woodward, and Tricia of Dallas, TX. Uncle Leopold Dimmitt of Pratt, KS; Aunt Sandra Campbell of Hugoton, KS; Aunt Linda Sullivan of Hugoton, KS; Aunt Kathy Seymore of Sublette, KS; and Aunt Barbara Fussell of Kilgore, TX, also many cousins and workshop clients and friends.
Visitation will be Thursday June 8th between the hours of 3:00 and 5:00 pm. at the Bunch-Roberts Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Friday afternoon, June 9th at 2:00 p.m. at the Guymon First Baptist Church with Pastor Mike Carter officiating. Interment will follow at the Elmhurst Cemetery under the care of the Bunch – Roberts Funeral Home of Guymon.
Memorials in memory of Chris can be made to the Panhandle Area Sheltered Workshop and will be accepted at the Bunch – Roberts Funeral Home, PO Box 1112, Guymon, OK 73942. Friends can sign the online guestbook and leave condolences at www.bunchroberts.com
