Barbara David, 79, longtime Guymon resident passed away Saturday evening, June 11, 2022 at the Memorial Hospital of Texas County.
The daughter of Berlin B. and Edith M. (Hutchins) Carlton, Barbara Venus was born June 29, 1942 in Mooreland, Oklahoma. The family moved to Guymon in 1944 from Woodward and Barbara attended the Guymon school system.
Barbara married the love of her life, Thomas Benjamin “Tommy” David on February 3, 1959 in Woodward. Barbara was a homemaker, as well as being a well-loved and loving hostess at K-Bob’s and Ambassador Restaurant for many years, making many dear friends. She enjoyed spending her time doing art - painting, drawing and ceramics.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Tommy David; one son, Benjamin Thomas “Benny” David; grandson, Erik David; two great grandsons, Aiden David and Tabor Keeling; and one brother, Paul Eugene Carlton.
Survivors include her daughter, Vicki Lynn and husband, Ted Keeling of Hooker; son, Rocky Dale David of Guymon; five grandchildren: Tamara and Jeff Monk of Waukon, Iowa, Aaron and Ashlyn Keeling of Waukon, Iowa, Monica and Jesse Blumenthal of Norman, Oklahoma, Jarrod and Jo David of Nashville, Tennessee, and Jill David of Guymon; 13 great grandchildren; one sister, Patsy Jones of Riverbank, California; her best friend and adopted “sister”, Opal Reid of Guymon; along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday morning, June 16th at 10:00 a.m. at the Northridge Free Will Baptist Church in Guymon with Pastor Stacy Ross officiating. Interment will follow at the Elmhurst Cemetery in Guymon. Friends may call at the Bunch – Roberts Funeral Home on Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. for viewing.
