Guymon, Oklahoma - Johnny Mack Claycomb, 68, passed away Friday morning, February 10, 2006, at his home.
The son of Kathryn (McMains) and John Lewis Claycomb, Jr., he was born August 9, 1937, in Los Angeles, California. Johnny attended Guymon schools and graduated with the Guymon High School Class of 1955. He was united in marriage to Phyllis Sue Wood on February 12, 1955, in Pampa, Texas.
He was baptized in November 1949, at the First Christian Church in Guymon, where he remained a member. He was a partner in Claycomb Battery and Electric until his retirement in 1994.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Phyllis Claycomb; three daughters, Joni Loughridge and husband, Richard, Connie Perales and her late husband, Gilbert Perales and Jacki Anderson and husband, Jay, all of Guymon; a son, Johnny Mack Claycomb and wife, Terri of Atoka, Tenn.; 12 grandchildren, Paige Loughridge, Lane Loughridge, Christy Kelly, Cody Sturgell, Luke Sturgell and wife, Jana, Joshua and Tracy Perales, Jackson, Jett and Jayci Anderson, Robert McClaflin and wife, Jodi, and Tina Tanner and husband Jason; eight great-grandchildren, Raven Holdren, Autumn and Avery McClaflin, Nichole, Bryanna, Christopher, and Carmen Tanner. He is also survived by two sisters, Raedeane Gupton and husband, Jimmie of Portland, Texas, and Kay Tharp and husband, James of Enid, Okla.; two brothers, Dale Schriber Jr. of Amarillo, Texas, and Jack Schriber and wife, Dickie of Guymon; a son-in-law, Rick Sturgell of Enid, and a brother-in-law, Bud Wood and wife Earlene of Guymon.
He was preceded in death by his parents, stepfather, Dale Schriber, two daughters, Nancy Carol Claycomb and Tracy Annice Claycomb Sturgell, son-in-law, Gilbert Perales and a brother, James Claycomb.
Funeral services will be conducted on Monday afternoon, February 13th at 2 p.m. at the First Christian Church with Rev. Terry Neel, pastor officiating. Interment will follow in Elmhurst Cemetery under the direction of Henson-Novak Funeral Directors of Guymon.
Friends may call at the funeral home Sunday afternoon, 1 to 8 p.m.
