Betty [West] Glasscock She graduated from White Deer High School in White Deer, Texas, and was married to Wallace Glasscock for 20 years. She had two daughters, Brenda Lee and Jana Dee. Betty (Beeg to her friends) graduated from Central State College in Edmond, Okla., (now UCO) in 1964 and taught school two years on the Navajo Reservation in Fort Defiance, Arizona, 21 years in Chickasha, Oklahoma and 12 years in Bullhead City, Arizona. "Ms. G," as she was called by her many students, loved teaching and was devoted to her students. She will be remembered for the many hours she spent after school on yearbooks, school newspapers, pep club and counseling students. She was loved and cherished by those who were fortunate enough to have known her. Many former students have kept in touch with her over the years and told her of the difference she made in their lives. This always brought great joy to her. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Brenda Lee, her parents and her older brothers, Lynn and Roy. She is survived by her daughter, Jana Smart, Henderson, NV, her younger brother and sister-in-law, James and Diana West, Clear Lake, CA, her sister-in-law, Louis West, Pampa, TX, her sister and brother-in-law, Gale and LaRue Davidson, Mancos, CO, many loving nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and two great -great nieces. All who knew her will miss her smile, her laugh, her wonderful sense of humor, but most of all, her love. Ms. G's remains will be interred in the Velma, Oklahoma cemetery with her daughter. The family requests that donations be made to the Arthritis Foundation in lieu of flowers. |
