© Duncan Banner 6 Apr 2003 Frances Wynell 'Wyn" [Shults] Giere Frances Wynell "Wyn" Shults Giere, 60, of Security, Colo., died Wednesday, April 2, 2003, in Colorado Springs, Colo. Graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Rock Creek Cemetery with John Giere officiating. Burial will be under the direction of Don Grantham Funeral Home. Frances Wynell was born February 27, 1943, in Marlow to William I. and Annie L . Booth Shults. She married George Giere of Corpus Christi, Texas, in June 1960 in Austin, Texas. As a military dependent, she worked at bases from Grand Forks Air Force Base, N.D., Walker Air Force Base, N.M., Barksdale Air Force Base, La., Holloman Air Force Base, N.M., Loring Air Force Base, Maine, Sheppard Air Force Base, Texas, Chanute Air Force Base, Ill., and Randolpg Air Force Base, Texas. She completed her federal service at the U.S. Postal Service District Offices in San Antonio in 2002. She also worked as a pastor's secretary in Farmington, N.M.; a special secretary to the president of American Indian Bible College in Phoenix, Ariz.; and sermon research assistant at Jimmy Swaggart Ministries in Baton Rouge, La. At the time of her death she was serving as an executive administrative assistant to the vice president of human resources at Focus on the Family. She dealy loved the opportunity to serve her Lord Jesus Christ in such a great organization. She was a lifelong born-again believer in Jesus Christ, attending and servingin churches throughout the United States in the Assemblies of God. Her last night was spent telling the Missionettes (girls ministry) about missionaries who are serving around the world. She was the missions secretary at Friendship Assembluy of God. Wynn was a writer of poetry and songs, several of which were published in books and national magazines plus many others yet unpublished. Survivors include her husband of the home; two sons, Darron Geire of Converse, Texas, and Terrill Giere of Driftwood, Texas; one daughter, Stephani Montoya of Farmington, N.M.; nine grandchildren; and two great- grandchildren. |
