Emory Lee Stuckey

August 7, 1929 - March 9, 2018

Emory Lee Stuckey, of Oklahoma City, passed away on Friday, March 9, 2018, at the age of 88. He was born on August 7, 1929, in Houston, Texas, to Albert Cleo and Ida Mae (Stephens) Stuckey.
Funeral services are scheduled for Monday, March 12, at 11:00 A.M. in the Whitt Funeral Home Chapel with Dennis Frazier, Lt. Retired, OKC Police Department, officiating. Burial will follow in the Resthaven Memorial Gardens. Full military honors will be presented by the Stephens County Honor Guard. Arrangements have been entrusted to Whitt Funeral Home.
Emory attended Freeport, Texas public schools. He married Selma Fern Walker on July 2, 1949, in Velasco. They had one surviving child, Emory Lee "Joe."
He enlisted in the U.S. Army in March 1952 at the age of 23. He was honorably discharged in 1954. After his discharge, he worked as a route salesman for Harvey's Coffee, Borden's Milk, and Frito-Lay. He retired from Frito-Lay in 1980. He bought a fifth-wheel trailer. He and Selma made many trips, spending winters in McAllen. His favorite trip was to Alaska, where he was camping with a group at the lakes there. He liked buying and trading cars, and enjoyed fishing and metal detecting. He especially took pleasure in attending all of his grandsons’ school activities. He enjoyed meeting and visiting people. He was a member of the Duncan Masonic Lodge for over 50 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents; infant son, Edwin Lee Stuckey in 1949; and brother, Nolan Ray Stuckey.
Emory is survived by his wife of 68 years, Selma Stuckey; son, Emory Lee "Joe," II, and wife Penny Stuckey; and grandsons, Joe Dan and wife Megan Stuckey and Scott Stuckey.
Memorial contributions may be made in Emory's name to the Oklahoma Heart Hospital - Congestive Heart Failure Research.
