Margaret attended Comanche public schools. She married Donald Edward Shannon, Sr. on June 21, 1955, in Duncan. They raised four children – Dianna, Vickie, Junior, and Darrell.
Margaret was a very caring and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She enjoyed and looked forward to attending church, FBC-Marlow, until her health issues made it too hard to attend. In her younger days she enjoyed dancing, going camping, and water skiing. She also had a big passion for working in her flowerbeds and mowing their three-acre yard. While co-owner (with her husband, Don) of their business, Mr. A Auto/Color, for 15 years, she had a very keen eye for mixing and matching automotive paint for their customers, whom very many requested that she mix their paint. Her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren were her pride and joy whom she loved so very much!
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Darrell Wayne Shannon; and her brother, Raymond Cobb.
Margaret is survived by her husband of 64 years, Don; children: Dianna Thompson of Duncan, Vickie Stewart of Chickasha, and Junior and wife Yvonne Shannon of Duncan; grandchildren: Willie Thompson, Cody Thompson, Todd Thompson, Traci Jameson, Chrissy Alcorn, Chad Kimbro, Charlie Hill, Buddy Shannon, Chris Cox, Amanda Shephard, Brice Shephard and Essence Bridges; and great grandchildren: Isabella Thompson, Hannah Thompson, Arawyn Thompson, Reed Thompson, Nash Thompson, Quinn Thompson, Ki’Arra Williams, Julius McCoy, Jamari McCoy, Kensley Kimbro, Kaden Kimbro, Trace Kimbro, Holland Kimbro, Kealey Alcorn, Bryson Shannon, and Ethen Cox.
