Billie Joe Huff

October 30, 1926 - August 25, 2020

Billie Joe Huff was born October 30, 1926, in Paoli, Oklahoma to Henry Gilbert and Edna Mae (Hayes) Huff. His earthly journey ended on Tuesday, August 25, 2020, in Lawton, where he was a resident at the Oklahoma Veterans Center, at the age of 93.
Graveside services are scheduled for Saturday, August 29, at 10:30 A.M. at Resthaven Memorial Gardens with Rev. Dean Hall officiating. Military honors will be presented by the Stephens County Honor Guard and the Patriot Guard Riders. Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Whitt Funeral Home/Oakcrest Cremation Center.
Bill attended Tecumseh public schools. He served his country in the US Navy from 1944 to 1946 on the USS Bobolink and the USS PC-485 during World War II. On June 10, 1950, he married Peggy Lou Lyons in Duncan. To this union two sons – Billy and Robert – were born. He was employed as a pump mechanic in the field for Koch Oil Company.
He and Peggy were inseparable. His biggest hobby was keeping her happy, which involved fish ponds and grandkids. They loved to take motor home trips and following their grandkids. He also enjoyed yard work, clocks, watching Robert drag racing, and telling jokes.
Bill is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law: Billy and Ginger Huff of Claremore; Robert and Karma Huff of Duncan; grandchildren: Colette Huff of Nashville, Tennessee; Melanie Huff of Lawton; Russell and wife Lacy Huff of Bartlesville; Jenny and husband Jimothy Fahrni of Houston, Texas; Robin and husband Casey Brooksher of Duncan; great grandchildren: Sutton Huff, Madeline Huff, Cooper Plagens, Grayson Brooksher, Gibson Brooksher, Gentry Brooksher; and brother, Henry Gilbert Jr. and wife Virginia Huff of Pink, Oklahoma.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy; parents, Henry Gilbert and Edna Mae Huff; and brother, Kenneth Huff.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Stephens County Honor Guard (PO Box 1811, Duncan, OK 73533) or the Patriot Guard Riders of Oklahoma (PO Box 1484, Duncan, OK 73534).
