Rita Gale Bostick

September 18, 1932 - July 21, 2017

Rita Gale Bostick, 84, entered into eternal peace on Friday, July 21, 2017, at her home in Duncan, Oklahoma.
Family visitation will be on Monday, July 24, from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. at Whitt Funeral Home.
Funeral services are scheduled for Tuesday, July 25, at 10:00 A.M. in the Whitt Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Dennis Kreie officiating. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are under the direction of Whitt Funeral Home.
Rita was born September 18, 1932, in Rubottom, Oklahoma, to the late Marvin and Monetha Smith. Rita grew up in a committed Christian home, her father a Baptist preacher and mother dedicated to the faith. She was the third of four girls, sisters Evelyn and Sharon Kay preceded her in passing. Rita graduated from Perryton High School in Perryton, Texas. She married the late Wilson F. Bostick in Oklahoma City in 1963, and was his devoted wife for almost 30 years. She attended real estate school and subsequently sold real estate for Combs Moody Moore Real Estate. She also worked at Wiley Post Airport in Oklahoma City and sold clothing. Since 1967, Rita attended faithfully at the Primitive Baptist Church in Duncan where she served as the church clerk. She was a member of the Christians Concerned organization, and served on the Duncan Literacy Council where she taught people to read. She was also an active member of the Savant Study Club.
Rita loved to be with her family and friends, travel, read, watch Oklahoma State University sports, and cheer on the OKC Thunder. She was a strong, loving and caring person, dedicated wife, mother, and friend, always generous with her time and resources.
Rita's loving memory is cherished by her sister, Juanza Perkins; children Sharon Ramirez, Gayla Cohen, and Brent Bostick; as well as grandchildren, Julie Peterson and husband Dan Peterson, Jaima Davidson and husband Jim Davidson, Chelsea Cohen and partner Chris Ryan, Brooklyn, Baylor and Maggie Bostick. She also leaves her memory behind for great-grandchildren, Chance, Bryson, and Averie Brooksher, Gage and Harper Davidson, Liani Rentas, and Chloe Peterson; and a host of family and friends.
Memorial contributions may be made in Rita's memory to Christians Concerned.
