Paula Mae Benson

January 3, 1944 - September 20, 2020

Paula Mae (Nodine) Benson was born January 3, 1944, in Levelland, Texas to John Rex and Dorothy Jean (Cowan) Nodine. She passed away on Sunday, September 20, 2020, at Meridian Nursing Home. She was 76.
A private family graveside service will be held on September 24, 2020, with Pastor Mario Pineda officiating. Nephews and nieces will serve as honorary pallbearers. Arrangements have been entrusted to Whitt Funeral Home.
Paula graduated from Duncan High School in 1962. She married Rufus Benson on September 3, 1963, in Montague, Texas. She was employed as a hair dresser and also as a seamstress for Haggar Slacks Company. She was an avid ceramic bunny collector and made Barbie clothing for her niece, Cindy. She enjoyed taking and framing family photos. She also enjoyed painting flowers, especially sunflowers.
She was preceded in death by her parents and sister-in-law, June Fay Benson.
Paula is survived by her husband of 57 years, Rufus of the home; brother, Rex and wife Sherry Nodine of Amarillo, Texas; sister, Kaye and husband Don Wells also of Amarillo; nieces and nephews: Cindy and Todd Sanner of Duncan, Dwayne and Jane Byrom of Duncan, Staci and Craig Donachy of Amarillo, Marty and Patsy Wells of San Antonio; Amy and Aaron Smith of Pueblo West, Colorado, Qunicy and Carmella Nodine of Amarillo; and several great nieces and great nephews.
Special thanks are given to the staff at Meridian Nursing Home and neighbor and friend, Debra McKinnon.
