Eliza Jane [Harvell] Little
The death of Mrs. J. T. Little, wife of County Treasurer Little, which occured at the family home in east Duncan Saturday morning at 1:20 o'clock, has cast a shadow of gloom over not only her immediate family, but of a large circle of friends as well. Mrs. LIttle was 56 years of age, a loyal wife and a true mother, and her death is most untimely. She had been ill for several weeks with a complication of diseases.Eliza Jane Harvell was born in Tennesse Nov. 14, 1852. At the age of six years, she moved with her parents to Wood county, Texas and was married to J.T. Little in Cook County, that state, May 4, 1873, moving to the Indian Trritory in the fall 1884. She professed a hope in Christ in August, 1873. and joined the Baptist church, since which time she has been a consistent Christian. She was the mother of ten children, three of whom died in infancy. Seven are still living, all married except two boys and one girl.
Fueral services were conducted at the grave by Revs. J.J. Ward and J.L.H. Hawkins Sunday evening, and the body was laid to rest in the Passmore grave yard near Velma. The Banner joins in expressions of sincere sympathy to the bereaved family.
