William Sherman Davis
W. S. DAVIS IS CALLED BY DEATHFuneral services for William Sherman Davis, 70, well known farmer, were held from the family home 12 miles east of Marlow, last Thursday afternoon, Nov. 8, at 4 o'clock.
The services were conducted by Rev. Thompson L. Shannon, pastor of the First Christian Church of Marlow. Mr. Davis had been a member of the Church of Christ for over 30 years.
Mr. Davis was married to Miss Mary Etta Pilgrim in the year 1886, and 12 children were born to his union. Two of the children (Jeffery and Pearl) preceded him in death.
The surviving 10 children, all of whom were present at the funeral, are Ollie Davis, Bob Davis, Scott Davis, Earnest Davis, Dee Davis, Edgar Davis, Mrs. Nora Garrett, and Mrs. Alice Hatfield, all of Bray, Mrs. Maud Lewis of Marlow, and Mrs. Myrtle Hatfield of Norman. He is also survived by one brother, J. E. Davis, of Oklahoma City.
Interment was in the Marlow Cemetery. Steele Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
