James Oliver "Ollie" Davis
OLLIE DAVIS IS BURIED MONDAYLone Oak Resident Died Sunday After An Illness of Several Months at His Home.
James Oliver, "Ollie" Davis, farmer of the Lone Oak community nine miles east of Marlow, died at his home Saturday afternoon, Oct. 18 after an illness the greater part of the last year.
Mr. Davis, who was 52 years old, was born at Sulphur Springs, Ark. May 1, 1889. He was married at Bailey in 1919 to Miss Minnie Jones. Mrs. Davis and three children survive. The children are Mrs. Mae Slaton and Mrs. Irene Westcott, both of Marlow and Delbert Davis who lives at home.
Sister and brothers surviving are Mrs. Maud Lewis of Oklahoma City, Mrs. Nora Garrett of Bray, Mrs. Myrtle Hatfield of Sulphur, Mrs. Alice Hatfield of Marlow, Scott Davis of Bray, Bob Davis of Hope, Ernest and Edgar Davis, both of Marlow.
Mr. Davis was a member of the Church of Christ. Funeral services were conducted Monday morning at the Marlow Cemetery by the pastor of the Pentecostal Church of God, P. F. Hutcherson.
The Steele Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
