Alma Jean Davies
Alma Jean Davies, 79, of Duncan died Wednesday, May 14, 2003, in Duncan.
Service will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at New Hope Baptist Church West with the Rev. Randy Southerland officiating. Burial will be in Marlow Cemetery under the direction of Don Grantham Funeral Home.
The family will receive visitors from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Alma Jean was born Sept. 1, 1923, in Duncan, to Lee and Vurlea Seely Mitchell.
She married Robert William "Bob" Davies on Sept. 15, 1948, in Centralia, Wash. He preceded her in death on April 27, 2000.
Mrs. Davies was a homemaker. She was the secretary for the V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary Post 1192, and a member of New Hope Baptist Church West.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Dan and Diane Davies and David and Lorri Davies, all of Marlow; a daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Randy Davis of Duncan; five sisters, Gay Willeford, Frances Pickard and Angela Mitchell, all of Duncan, Judy Perry of McAllen, Texas, and Marquita Mitchell of New York state; eight grandchildren, Wendy Woods, Dusty and Jamie Davies, Brian Davis, Rodney Davis, Erica Beck, and Dakota and Cherokee Davies; and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her parents and five brothers and sisters.
Bearers will be her grandsons.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, Memorial Program, NCICFUL, P.O. Box 102454, Atlanta, GA.
