Louise Aldridge McLendon

May 7, 1921 - November 10, 2014

McLendon, Louise, passed on to her much deserved reward on November 10, 2014. She was the beloved wife and high school sweetheart of Burrell Harry McLendon whose journey preceded her own. She left behind two sons, Ricky McLendon and Robby Earl McLendon whose ways through life were continually illuminated by her presence. Daughter-in-law Vicki McLendon, grandchildren Ricky McLendon and Heather Vaughan, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews are also now forced to navigate life without her positive and nurturing influence. Her encouragement and aid to all was pervasive.
Growing up in Maud, Oklahoma, she was the oldest of four children who all will be there to welcome her in "Gods next phase." Joe Beth Faram, Charles William Aldridge, and Edward Earl Aldridge were her sister and brothers. She loved and protected these siblings. She adored her father Earl Aldridge and revered her mother Ruby Jane Aldridge. The rejoicing of those who will be with her now will surely equal the pain of those whom she left.
Louise attended both OCW and OU. She considered her times as a line inspector on B-24 bombers during WWII, PTA President, and den mother when her children were young, much more important than her ownership and management of restaurants and other businesses as she ran through life. She believed business was a means to an end and never the ultimate goal.
Her passing means fewer hugs for those that need it, fewer calls to the sick and troubled, and much less laughter in the world. Again, those with whom she will now reunite are much happier; those who she left behind are much sadder.
Memorial services to celebrate her life will be 2:00 PM Friday, November 14, 2014 at Havenbrook Funeral Home Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation, 825 NE 13th St. OKC, OK 73104.
