Billy George Donohew

November 4, 1946 - October 3, 2016

Billy George Donohew, 69, of Duncan, Oklahoma, passed away on Monday, October 3, 2016, at Mercy Hospital in Oklahoma City. He was born on November 4, 1946, in Lawton to Lola Donohew.
Family visitation will be from 6 to 8 PM on Friday, October 21, at Whitt Funeral Home.
Graveside services will be held on Saturday, October 22, at 2:00 PM at the Marlow, Oklahoma Cemetery with Rev. Andrew Haire, pastor of St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Duncan, officiating. Services have been entrusted to Whitt Funeral Home.
Bill grew up in the Duncan area and graduated from Duncan High School in 1965. He joined the U.S. Navy on July 16, 1967. He was honorably discharged on October 10, 1969 while serving as a Fire Control Technician 3rd Class on the USS Norfolk at Norfolk, Virginia. He married Dadriaon Gibson on April 1, 1980, at the Highland Park Baptist Church in Duncan.
Bill worked as an HVAC/sheet metal technician at Davis Heating & Air Conditioning for 37 years. Prior to his employment at Davis, he worked for Ridley Packing Company, Mid America Fabrication and Superior Sheet Metal. He enjoyed doing yardwork, driving his John Deere tractor and visiting Branson, Missouri. He loved woodworking and watching people with various crafts skills make things.
Bill is survived by his wife of 36 years, Dadriaon; 3 children, Scott Gibson and Joe Gibson, both of Duncan, and Kimberly Lee of Aurora, Colorado; grandchildren, Madison Lee, Grayson Lee, Byron Gibson, and Jessica Gibson, all of Stillwater, Tyler Gibson, MaKayla Gibson, Maranda Gibson and Bayleigh Anderson, all of Duncan; 1 sister, Freda Qualls and her husband Roy, of Duncan; brother-in-law, Jackie Don Sadler and his wife Debbie; sister-in-law, Dianne Gilliland; uncles and aunts, Junior and Mattie Donohew, Richard Donohew, Joyce Blasengame; nieces and nephews, Billy Qualls, Angela Wolfe and her husband Scott, Jacob Wolfe, Jerad Wolfe, Breanna Qualls, Lincoln Sadler, Jeremy Gilliland, Jody Gilliland and Natalie Moss; numerous grandnieces and nephews, cousins Robert Griggs, David Blasengame, Cliff Blasengame and his wife Kelli, Sherri Blasengame, and Bonnie Cole.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Lola Donohew Call; grandparents, Everett and Grace Donohew; parents-in-law, Donald and Alice Sadler; brother-in-law, David Gilliland; nephew-in-law, Jason Gilliland; uncle, Jeff Brown; aunt, Dovie Brown Newman; and his stepdad, Lawrence Call.
