Brandon James Berry

December 13, 1983 - September 26, 2020

Brandon James Berry of Norman, Oklahoma, passed away on Saturday, September 26, 2020, at Norman Regional Hospital at the age of 36 years.
Brandon James Berry was born on December 13, 1983, in Duncan, Oklahoma. He was the son of Gary Don and Marsha Deanne (Chapman) Berry. He grew up in Marlow, Oklahoma, attending Marlow and Bray Public Schools graduating from Bray High School. He then furthered his education at SWOSU in Weatherford, Oklahoma, receiving his bachelors degree in communications. Following his education, he began working for the Durant Daily Democrat in Durant. He married Jamie Carrick on April 21, 2012, in Durant, Oklahoma, and they made their home in Norman, Oklahoma. He began working in home renovations until 2014 when he began working at The Norman Transcript and later began his career in graphic design until his illness. He enjoyed playing video games, listening to music, playing drums and guitar, and loved spending time with his family.
His maternal grandparents, W.L. and Lillian (Pennigton) Chapman, and his paternal grandparents, Robert Berry and Dean and Wynell Talley, preceded him in death.
He is survived by his wife, Jamie Berry of Norman; His 4-year-old son, Phillip Berry of Norman; his mother, Deanne Gates and husband Chester of Marlow; His father, Gary Berry and wife Karolyn of Burkburnett, Texas; his brother, Donnie Berry of Duncan; and stepbrothers Allen Gates and Kevin King; stepsisters Tammy Warner, Merisa Gates, Kristy Key, Rachel Reynolds, Bekah Gates and Devona De La Rosa; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Robert and Sheryie Carrick of Durant; sister-in-law, Robyn Sanchez and husband Craig; and many other family members and friends.
