Ada Joyce [Newton] Kerr

Birth date: September 3, 1931
Death date: March 8, 2015

Graveside inurnment services for Ada Joyce Kerr, 83, will be Saturday, March 14th, 2015 at 2 p.m. at Fairlawn Cemetery, Comanche, OK.

Ms. Kerr passed away Sunday March 8th, 2015 in Duncan.

Joyce was born September 9th, 1931 in Bridgeport, TX to James and Lorene [Phillips] Newton.

Joyce was the Variety Manager in the food and grocery industry. She worked for Safeway and Homeland. Joyce retired from Homeland after 30 years in 1994.

Her hobbies included fishing, gardening, and traveling. She had a special fondness for animals; mostly dogs. Her Pomeranians and Pugs were her babies.

Joyce married Robert Kerr on February 9, 1976 and shared in running Bob's Body Shop in Meridian. Bob passed away February 25, 2012.

Ms. Kerr was a member of Trinity Baptist Church in Duncan.

Joyce was a loving and caring person. She will be missed by family and many friends.

Survivors include her five daughters, Sharon Sloan and husband Ronnie of Comanche, OK, Marilyn Hanusch of Duncan, OK, Sherry Johnson and husband Jimmy of Grandberry, TX, Gwenda McGee and husband Mike of Duncan, OK, and Kayla Griffin and husband Gerald of Tulsa, OK; 21 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

2:00 pm to 3:00 pm on Saturday, March 14, 2015 at Fairlawn Cemetery - Comanche Highway Road 81 Comanche OK
