Donna Jean Sorrell

April 15, 1939 - May 1, 2016

Donna Jean Sorrell of Marlow, Oklahoma was born on April 15, 1939 in Detroit, Michigan to Benjamin and Helen Harper Horning. She passed away on Sunday, May 1, 2016, at her home near Marlow at the age of 77.
She attended schools and graduated from high school in 1957 in Lincoln Park, Michigan.
She married George Sorrell on August 3, 1991 in Waurika, Oklahoma.
Donna was a homemaker. She worked briefly as a technician for an eye doctor in Michigan. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, and reading Danielle Steel novels. She was a long time member of Eastern Star and attended Friendship Baptist Church, Comanche.
She is survived by her husband, George; five children, Charyl and husband David Booth, Pattie and husband Paul Jager and Greg and wife Cassandra Sorrell, all of Michigan, Caryn Dreher of Wisconsin, and Megan and husband Joe Stuckey, of Duncan; eight grandchildren, Kayla and husband Kelvin Lillo, Alex Dohring both of Wisconsin, Valerie and husband Tony McGraw of Vermont, Raymond and Ashley Jager, Kevin Forth, Rachel Lang, Ronald Booth and Randal Atkins, all of Michigan; six great-grandchildren, Kattelaya Lillo and Kazzmynn Lillo of Wisconsin, Caleb Lang, Jordan Westerfield, Olivia Campbell, and Kevin Forth III, all of Michigan; four brothers-in-law, Bill Sorrell of Comanche, Victor Sorrell of Michigan, Larry and wife Janice Sorrell of Tennessee, and Harold and wife Donna Sorrell of Perry, Oklahoma; three sisters-in-law, Lois Barnes, Tommie Joe and husband Bob Anderson, of Oklahoma, and Shirley Reese of Oregon; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Danny Ray Horning; son, George Lee Sorrell, Jr.; a daughter, Amber Lang, 2 brothers-in-law, Glenn Sorrell and Buzz Sorrell, and a sister-in-law, Polly Mainer.
Family visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 4th, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Whitt Funeral Home, 3720 N. Highway 81.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 5th, at 10:00 AM at Friendship Baptist Church (located 4 miles west of red light on Hwy 53 in Comanche, the 3 miles south) with Bro. Dan Standifer officiating. Burial will be at the Fairlawn Cemetery in Comanche under the direction of Whitt Funeral Home.
