Thomas John Mullens

September 19, 1960 - July 19, 2020

Thomas John Mullens was born September 19, 1960 in Norfolk, Nebraska to Tommie and Lanell Jean (Harper) Mullens. He passed away on Sunday, July 19, at his home in Newcastle. He was 59 years old.
Visitation will be Wednesday, July 22, from 5-7 P.M. at Whitt Funeral Home. Funeral services are scheduled for Thursday, July 23, at 10:00 A.M. in the Whitt Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor J.T. Murrell officiating. Interment will follow at Fairlawn Cemetery in Comanche under the direction of Whitt Funeral Home. Serving as pallbearers will be Izak Herrin, Sam Herrin, Temple Fugett, Anthony Jones, Tommie Mullins and Paul Rickey. Honorary pallbearer will be Matthew Mullins.
Thomas graduated in 1979 from Beatrice, Nebraska High School and then attended technical school. He was employed as a long-haul truck driver. He enjoyed going to the casino. He was a wonderful supporter of the youth ministry at Faith Christian Fellowship where he was a member. Thomas was a hardworking man and great provider for his family. He loved watching his grandchildren play basketball and anything they posted for him.
Thomas is survived by his parents, Tommie and Lanell Jean Mullens; children: Tommie Charles Mullins, Matthew John Mullins, Amanda Dawn and husband Paul Rickey; grandchildren: Izak, Sam, Breanna, Elisha, Kason and JoJo; brothers, Morris Mullens, Jackie and wife Lisa Mullens; sisters, Ricky Gonzales, Dorothy Jeffery; and many nieces and nephews.
