Ruth Dean

March 25, 1926 - June 20, 2017

Ruth Dean, 91, of Shawnee, Oklahoma, was born March 25, 1926, in Comanche, to William "Bill" and Rozena (Jones) Parker. She passed away on Tuesday, June 20, 2017.
Family visitation will be on Wednesday, June 21, from 5:30-7 P.M. at Whitt Funeral Home.
Funeral services are scheduled for Thursday, June 22, at 10:30 A.M. in the Whitt Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor James Hatcher officiating. Burial will follow in the Fairlawn Cemetery in Comanche. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Whitt Funeral Home.
Ruth graduated from Waurika High School. She married Horace Dean on December 7, 1945. They had three children, Mary Ruth, Margaret Anne, and Robert Errol. They were married for 41 years before they were divorced.
Ruth worked as a telephone operator for Southwestern Bell in Waurika. She played the piano at the Oak Avenue Church of the Nazarene. She loved to sing. She also loved to cook big meals and made delicious coconut pies.
She is survived by her two daughters, Mary Ruth Armstrong and her husband, Larry, of Duncan and Margaret Anne Hoyle and her husband, Lee, of Midwest City; nine grandchildren, Bobby Armstrong and wife Cristy, Greg Armstrong, Andrea Jackson and husband John, Jessica Harrington and husband Will, Jacob Hoyle and wife Jamie, Amy Dean, Jesse Dean, Robin Scott and husband Brad, and Rose McClung and husband Dale; and thirteen great grandchildren, Kadyn and Caroline Armstrong, Brayden Russell, Landon Gouge, Gabriel and Logan Jackson, Brookelynn and Boston Hoyle, Maleki and Maddox Scott, Charlee, Stevee and Dustee McClung.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Rozena Parker, and her son, Robert Errol Dean.
