Geneva Susie [Embree] Martin

1936-2014

Geneva "Susie" Martin, age 78, died at home in Edmond, Oklahoma on Saturday, October 18, 2014 following a brief illness.

Born August 10, 1936, in Ryan, Oklahoma she lived for most of her life in Duncan, Oklahoma and for the past 14 years in Edmond, Oklahoma.

Susie was a kindergarten teacher and a church secretary at the Eastside Church of Christ for many years. Most recently, she worked in fine jewelry sales at Macy's in Oklahoma City.

She was a long-time member of the Eastside Church of Christ in Duncan, Oklahoma and was a member of the Memorial Road Church of Christ in Edmond, Oklahoma.

Survivors include her husband, Roy Glen of Edmond, Oklahoma, her daughters, Brenda O'Dell of Edmond, Oklahoma and Kathy Elliott of Edmond, Oklahoma and her son-in-law, Robert Elliott of Edmond, Oklahoma. Susie is also survived by her grandchildren, Lauren Bauer and her husband Lars of Edmond, Oklahoma, Emily Elliott of New York, New York, Evan Elliott of Malibu, California and Elizabeth Elliott of Edmond, Oklahoma. Susie also had two special great-grandchildren, Lily O'Dell and Owen Bauer.

A private, family graveside service was held on Tuesday, October 21 at the Duncan Cemetery.

Memorials in lieu of flowers are welcomed by the family and should be mailed to Lilyfield, a Christian Adoption and Foster Care agency, 501 E. 15th, Suite 400A, Edmond, OK 73013 or to Shine Honduras, a scholarship program for underprivileged Honduran children, 3126 S. Boulevard, #168, Edmond, OK, 73013.
