Ron E. Lively
Ron E. Lively, 68, of Duncan, Okla., died Tuesday, August 4, 2009, at Integris Health Baptist Medical Ctr. in Oklahoma City, Okla. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, Aug. 7, 2009 at Assumption Catholic Church with Father Joseph Irwin officating.
Interment will follow at Duncan Cemetery under the direction of Don Grantham Funeral Home.
He was born on March 6, 1941 in Elk City, Okla. to "Pete" J.D. and Lucille [Edler] Lively.
He married Betty Ann Morris on Nov. 27, 1963 in Duncan.
Ron attended St. Joseph Catholic School in Elk City and graduated from Duncan High School in 1960.
He served in the United States Army during peacetime.
He began his working career by working at Brown-Goodall Ford. He then moved to Anadarko to work for Western Farmers Electric for 6 years. Returning to Duncan he worked at the Red River Vo-Tech as a drafting instructor for 12 years. After working a short time at Halliburton Services he opened his own business, Duncan Design and Drafting. He purchased the business "Kitchens Specialist" and operated it from 1989 to 2005, doing residential and commercial work all across Oklahoma. In 2005, he joined in partnership with Anthony and Karla Rodiger and moved the business to Marlow, which is now known as "Cabinets by Design". He enjoyed his work.
He was a member of Assumption Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife Betty, of the home, two daughters, Rebecca Lynn (Lively) Pierce and Karla Jean (Lively) Rodiger of Marlow, Okla., his mother, Lucille Lively of Duncan, one brother, Danny Joe Lively of Texas, one grandson, Joshua Ryan Stewart of Marlow. He was preceded in death by his father. Pallbearers will be: Andy Morris, Danny Lively Jr., Robert Simon, Earl Delk, Eddie Harrell and Keith Davis.
In lieu of flowers, Memorial gifts may be made at Legacy Bank to a memorial fund in Ron's name (contact person: Shelley Hall at Legacy Bank Marlow).
