W. A. Little

W. A. Little, First Cotton Ginner, Dies

William A. Little, 87, who operated the first cotton gin in the Duncan area, died at 8:10 p.m. Wednesday in a local hospital.

Little, a resident of Duncan since he came here from Courtney Flats, Tex., in 1895, lived at 211 Elm. He was a retired rancher. Little had been ill 10 years and in the hosital three weeks.

The service will be at 2 p.m. Friday in the chapel of Grantham Funeral Home. The Rev. Maynard Campbell of the Duncan Rescure Mission will be in charge.

Little was born June 26, 1874 in Courtney Flats, Tex. His wife, Lucy, died here in September of 1959.

Survivors includeee a daughter, Mrs. Earl Frensley, 115 Willow, Duncan, and two sons, Tad Little, Longview, Tex., and John R. Little Corpus Christi, Tex.

A brother, Hardie Little, Tulsa; three sisters, Mrs. Cammie Copeland, 711 Stephens, Duncan; Mrs. Annie Cornish, Shawnee, and Mrs. Effie Waldron, Los Angels; five grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren also survive.

Little was a member of the Immanuel Baptist Church and Duncan Masonic Lodge.
