Donald William Harriman

Donald William Harriman of Duncan, OK went to be with his Lord and Savior on June 28, 2006 at the age of 75. He was born March 16th, 1931 to Burl William and Dorothy Lange Harriman in Hoffman, OK.

At the age of seven, Don came to know the Lord as his personal Savior and was baptized by his father who was an ordained Baptist minister.

The family moved from Hoffman to Chickasha where he graduated from high school in 1948. He served in the 45th Division of the OK National Guard during the Korean Conflict. After attending college at Cameron University in Lawton, he graduated from Oklahoma A&M, Stillwater in 1956.

Shortley after earning his degree in Mechanical Engineering, Don moved to Duncan and began a 30 year career as a Research Engineer for Halliburton.

Don and Norma Jean Cruse were married on December 22, 1956 and lived in Duncan where they attended and served with First Baptist Church.

He taught Sunday School, was a choir member and served as a deacon. He was a past Chairman of the deacon body. As Chairman of the Building Committee, he was instrumental in planning and working on renovating FBC's Falls Creek Cabin.

Survivors include Norma Jean, his loving wife of 49 years and their three daughters: Dianne Mouser, husband Clif and children Lindsay, David and Cara of Waco, TX; Donna Gannaway, husband Kerry and children Keri Leigh and Brad of Plano, TX; Duncan resident, Jan Wiggins, husband Mike and daughter Michelle Fox and her husband Pat and two children Katie and Conner of Noble, OK. Sisters include Margaret Ratliff and husband Don of Tulsa; Frances Gideon of Albuquerque, NM; Dorothy Cox of Chickasha; and Barbara Noakes and husband Bob of Rocklin, CA.

He is survived by one brother, David and wife Sandra of Norman, OK, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Interment will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 1st in the Duncan City Cemetery conducted by Dr. Clifton B. Mouser.

A memorial service celebrating Don's life will be held at the First Baptist Church at 1:30 on Saturday, July 1 with Rev. Rick Whitaker officiating, assisted by Rev. Cliff Cummings.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m.

Memorial gifts may be made to the First Baptist Church Falls Creek Assembly Fund.
