Alma Mae [Brown] Gore
Alma Mae Brown Gore, 88, of Duncan died Thursday, April 11, 2002, in Duncan. Service will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Immanuel Baptist Church with the Rev. Randy Southerland and Dr. Jack Robbins officiating. Burial will be in Duncan Cemetery under the direction of Don Grantham Funeral Home in Duncan.
The family will receive visitors from 2-4 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home.
Mrs. Gore was born on Feb. 22, 1914, in Comanche to Henry Riley and Ora Lee Folsom Brown.
She married J.A. "Buster" Brown and he preceded her in death on Nov. 24, 1970. She married Hubert Gore in 1987.
She was a homemaker and former owner and operator of her own beauty shop for 45 years, until her retirement in 1994. She was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband of the home; two sons, R. Terry Brown of Duncan, and Joe Bob Brown of Hollywood, Fla.; six grandchildren, Robert C. Brown, Jamie L. Brown, William G. Brown, Gaye Dawn Brown, Melanie Poulter, Molly M. Brown; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Joye Lanelle Brown in 1934; and a son, Jerry Gene Brown in 1990.
Bearers will be Shorty Brown, Jim Johnson, Dick Scott, Glen Scott, Gary Gore and Mike Gore.
