© The Chickasha Express-Star Chickasha, Oklahoma 3 March 2003 Broadus B. Coffman Broadus B. Coffman, died Friday, February 28, in Duncan at the age of 90. Funeral services will be at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, at New Hope Baptist Church West. Interment will be in Duncan Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. Arrangements are under the direction of Don Grantham Funeral Home. Mr. Coffman was born June 10, 1912, in Comanche, to Clint D. and Mary Frances Bailey Coffman. He married Mary Jewell McCutchen on September 17, 1932, in Comanche. He grew up in a farming community near Comanche and graduated from Comanche High School in 1930. In 1937 he went to work for the Soil Conservation Service and retired in 1972 after 37 years of faithful services. He was ordained a Deacon by Immanuel Baptist Church in 1942. He continued to serve as a Deacon at New Hope Baptist Church West at the time of his death. He will be remembered as a faithful servant of the Lord and was known for his visiting those unable to attend services. He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers, Lloyd, Ralph and George Coffman; 3 sisters in Law: Vinita Allen, Vera Jobe and Ethel Greer. Survivors include 7 children and spouses: Dale Coffman, Burns Flat, OK, Mary and George Kennedy, Hesperia, CA, Kenneth and Sandra Coffman, Wimberley, TX, Rita and Dean Dombrosky, Nederland, TX, Carl and Lois Coffman, Shawnee, OK, Tony Coffman, Bethany, OK, Laurie and Frank Dombrosky, Nederland, TX; 19 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren; 2 sisters in law: Vena Coffman, Starksville, MS, and Ruth and Joy McMaster, Duncan. Memorial contributions can be made to the New Hope Baptist Church West Building Fund 5450 W. Beech, Duncan, OK 73533. |
