Sallisaw, Oklahoma.
Burial will follow at Sallisaw City Cemetery in Sallisaw,
Oklahoma under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Service, Inc.
He was the firstborn child born on June 25, 1961 in Lafayette, Louisiana, to the
late Joseph Curly Roberts and Minerva Marie (Green) Roberts. He fought the good
fight until our Heavenly Father called him home on April 3, 2026, in Dallas,
Texas.
Charles was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Curly Roberts; sister,
Stephanie Ann Roberts-Thomas; mother-in-law, Mary Flores; his paternal and
maternal grandparents; and his nephew, Cleonis Dean, Jr.
Charles attended Sallisaw Public Schools and was a graduate of Class 1979. He
worked at Cititrends and attended Greater New Bethel Baptist Church in Sallisaw.
He was baptized at a young age and started his ministry at the age of 33 years
old.
Charles was a family man, he never met a stranger. He was very funny and very
loud, you knew when he was around. The three most important things to Charles
were: God 1st, Family 2nd, and the Pittsburgh Steelers 3rd. He and his wife,
Angie, loved to travel, try restaurants recommended by Diners, Drive Ins &
Dives, and spending time with family and friends. He was the "King of the
Grill." He loved cooking and experiencing foods from other cultures. But most of
all, he loved serving the Lord. Charles attended Greater New Bethel Baptist
Church as an Apostle, Adult Sunday School teacher, and Men's Bible Study
teacher. He was a husband, father (Padre), papa, son, brother, uncle and friend
to many. Charles biggest accomplishment was leading others to Christ, he visited
many hospitals, homes, families, weddings and funerals, wherever you needed him,
he was there. He was a true servant of Jesus Christ. He did not sugarcoat God's
word, he might hurt your feelings, but he still loved you. He wasn't ashamed of
sharing the gospel with anyone. He that hath an ear, let him hear what the
spirit saith unto the churches.
Charles united in holy matrimony with Angelic Roberts on March 12, 2016,
together they have six children: Julia Kilpatrick of Fort Smith, AR, Josh and
Kieosha Roberts of North Richland Hills, TX, Isaiah Scott of Duncanville, TX,
Lyric and Russell Stillwell of Sallisaw, OK, Kassandra Briggs of Sallisaw, OK,
and David Briggs, Jr. of Sallisaw, OK.
Charles will be forever cherished by his loving wife: Angelic Roberts of
Sallisaw, OK; his strong, beautiful mother, Evangelist Minerva Roberts of
Sallisaw, OK; one sister, Patsy and Tommy Gibbs of Sallisaw, OK, two brothers,
Dennis Roberts of Temple, AZ and Patrick and Paige Roberts of Chandler, AZ;
grandchildren: Adrian, Jurnee, Melaysia, Cordell, Jay, Myles, Elvie Mae, Hudson,
Tayvieon, and one on the way; his nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews,

grandparents; and his nephew, Cleonis Dean, Jr.
