Rev. Carthel Hulin Ramey

Funeral services for Carthel H. Ramey, 94, of Muldrow, OK were held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Victory Temple Pentecostal Church in Roland, OK with Revs. Charles Ogdon, Charles Phillips and Randy Farmer officiating.

Burial was in Lee's Chapel Cemetery in Muldrow, OK under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Muldrow, OK.

Mr. Ramey was born September 10, 1913, in Lee's Chapel, to Robert Ramey and Menerva (Holt) Ramey.  He died Tuesday, February 12, 2008, in Stilwell, OK.
 
Mr. Ramey was a retired minister at Watts Holiness Church, Liberty Holiness, Lee's Chapel, the Block Church in Muldrow and the Holiness Church of the Air in Muldrow. He worked at Griffin Grocery Company for 36 years.
He married Bernice C. Holiman Vanderheiden, December 27, 1997, in Fort Smith, Arkansas.
 
Survivors include his wife, Bernice of the home, three sons and daughters-in-law; Gene and Ann Ramey, and Junior and Portia Ramey all of Muldrow, and Moody and Jan Ramey of Fort Smith, four step-daughters and step-sons-in-law; Irene and John Christopher of Wright City, MO, Jean and Wayne Reese of Lewisville, Texas, Rosa and Clebern Workman of Stilwell, OK, and Sylvia and Jim Liles of Edmond, OK, one step-son, and step-daughter-in-law; Harold and Corinna Vanderheiden of Bunch, OK, seven grandchildren, eight step-grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, six step-great-grandchildren, and several other relatives and friends.
 
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 62 years, Marie Ramey and eight brothers and sisters.
 
Pallbearers were; Robert Ramey, Larry Ramey, Ronald Ramey, Park Wolfe, Brandon Howard and Jerrod Vanderheiden.
Honorary pallbearers were; Nate Catlett, Vernon Davis, Avis Jackson, Jim Day, Junior Rogers, Dale Owens, Thelbet Hardin, Raymond Redden and Paul Green.

God bless you all. Our appreciation to everyone; Caregivers, friends, family and Sheppherds Care Hospice for your love and prayers. Special thanks for the food, flowers, cards and for everyone who visited and called during our difficult time. To everyone; "Pray and live for God". Carthel and Bernice Ramey.
