Jack Pettit, Sr. was born on March 3, 1942 in Marble City, Oklahoma to William and Cynthia Pettit and passed away peacefully on May 3, 2021 in Stilwell, Oklahoma at the age of 79 years, 1 month, and 3 days.


Jack loved playing softball and was a coach for many years, he also loved fishing and spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. In 1969 Jack married the love of his life Mary. They were married for 51 years. Jack worked in Sallisaw at Holley Carburetor then it changed name to BorgWarner. He  retired from there after 20 plus years. He also served in the Army and was in the Vietnam War in 1968-1969. Jack never met a stranger, and everyone loved him, he was a special man with many friends. He is very loved and will be deeply missed.
 

He was preceded in death by his wife: Mary Pettit, son: Michael Don Pettit, 3 sisters: Phoebe Pettit, Dollie Blackbird, and Elsie Wade, 1 brother: Deronie Pettit, and 1 great grandson: Javion Netro.
 

Jack is survived by his 3 children, 1 son: Jack Pettit, Jr. of Stilwell, Oklahoma, 2 daughters: Marie Ladrillero and husband Saturnino of Stilwell, Oklahoma, and Jennifer Cartwright and husband James of Sallisaw, Oklahoma. 4 sisters: Reba Rogers, Winnie Pettit, Cecilia Hardbarger all of Marble City, Oklahoma, and Lois Vann of Sallisaw, Oklahoma, 1 brother: Gerald Pettit of Marble City, Oklahoma. 14 grandchildren;  6 great grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
 

Funeral services were held at the House of Praise, Marble City, OK with Bro. Clifton Pettit officiating. 

Interment followed at Flute Springs Cemetery, Sequoyah County, OK under the direction of Roberts/Reed-Culver Funeral Home, Stilwell, OK.
