TAHLEQUAH — Services for Carl Lee are Thursday, Oct. 11, at 1 p.m., at the Blackgum Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the Box Cemetery under the care of Green Country Funeral Home.
Officiating will be Pastor Dale Ritter. Pallbearers will be David Auxier, Jeff Harlen, Justin Cupp, Tim Clinton, Ryan Campbell and Cameron Campbell. Online condolences may be left at tahlequahfuneral.com.
Carl Lee was born May 6, 1936, in Blackgum, to Owen Sylvester Lee and Della Ella (Ray) Lee. Carl left this world on Oct. 6, in Tulsa.
Carl graduated from Vian High School in 1955. He married Shirley Yandell in 1957 and shared 41 years of marriage until her passing.
Carl worked as a welder, rancher, and cowboy, and enjoyed roping for many years. He enjoyed the guitar, music, singing, being a good story teller, cattle, and spending time with his family and friends. Carl was one who never met a stranger.
Carl has been preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Yandell; his parents; sister, Ruby Spencer; brother, Jerry Lee; and two grandsons, Ricky Edward Lee and Jason William Cupp.
He is survived by his four children, Ricky Lee of Hulbert, Lori Auxier and husband Phillip of Hulbert, Debbie Lee of Tulsa, and Shawnda Upton and husband Chuck of Warner; his sister, Ruth Wasson and husband Frank of Vian; and brother Rex Lee and wife Sherry of Vian; 11 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren; as well as nieces, nephews, other family members, friends and loved ones.
