Marion Edward "Hoot" Rice, 93, died at Mercy Hospital in Ada, OK, on Monday, September 9, 2024. Hoot was born November 19, 1930, to Cecil and Voilet Williams Rice in Sasakwa, Oklahoma.

Hoot served in the U.S. Army at Ft. Sill, OK. He married Pauline Huckleberry on November 6, 1948, in Konawa OK. Hoot attended East Central University and worked several years for Conoco Oil Company in Ardmore, OK, and Jetco Chemical Company in Corsicana, TX. He was the General Manager for Proctor & Gamble's Oilfield Division and their International Division before he and Pauline retired to Cedar Creek Lake, TX. He loved fishing, playing golf, camping, and playing weekend games of dominoes and horseshoes with his dad and brothers. Hoot and Pauline were former members of the Southwest Church of Christ in Ada.

Hoot was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Rhonda K. Hickman; brothers, William Cecil "Bill" Rice, Shawnee, OK, and Donald Ray Rice, Nacogdoches, TX.

Survivors include his wife of 75 years, Pauline Huckleberry; daughters, Barbara G. Voigt (James) St. Joseph, MO, and Theresa D. Smith (Brent) Ada, and son, Larry A. Rice (Sally) Canyon Lake, TX; sister, Betty Ainsworth Moran (Bill) Round Rock, TX; son-in-law, Jay N. Hickman, Childress, TX; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

A private graveside service will be held on Thursday, September 12 at Vamoosa Cemetery.

Flowers are appreciated, or memorials can be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
