Services for Alice Houston, 90, of Ada, are 10:00 a.m. Monday at the Southwest Church of Christ, Floyd Kaiser will officiate. Burial will follow at Vamoosa Cemetery.
Mrs. Houston died Tuesday, November 11, 2014 at her home. She was born May 15, 1924 in Sasakwa, Oklahoma to Dorsey B. and Florence Bell Blankenship Harris. She graduated from Sasakwa High School.
She married Marcus Joy Houston on July 3, 1942. He preceded her in death on December 8, 2006. Mrs. Houston was employed at Solo Cup for 20 years as a machine tender. She was also a delivery driver for the Ada Evening News. Mrs. Houston was a member of Southwest Church of Christ.
Survivors include a son, Ronnie Houston and his wife Barbara of Ada; a grandson she reared, Kevin Calvert of Ada; sister, Geneva Bullock of Ada; two grandchildren, Tina Houston and Marcus Houston and wife Natalie; 12 great grandchildren, Kelly Calvert, Stephen Calvert, Chantz Houston, Parris Houston, Marissa Houston, Brandon Houston, Tiffany Houston, Darrin Houston, Rayne Houston, Brodie Houston, Abby Houston and Joyanna Houston; five great great grandchildren, Aubrey Calvert, Braxton Calvert, Carson Calvert, Michael Calvert and Drew McGuire; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Richard Glen and Darrell Ray; a daughter, Dianna Joyce Calvert; three brothers, Tommy Harris, James Harris and Jerry Harris; a sister, Doris Ann Trammel; and a great great granddaughter, Katy Lynn Calvert.
Bearers will be Darrin Houston, Rick Harris, Chantz Houston, Brandon Houston, Randy Bullock and Greg Bullock.
