Services for Rev. Julia Belle (Walton) Harjo, 65, of Ada are 1:00 p.m. Saturday at the Chickasaw Nation Community Center, Bro. Ellis Taylor will officiate. Burial will follow at Vamoosa Cemetery.

Mrs. Harjo passed away Tuesday, February 11, 2020 at her home. She was born April 14, 1954 at Talihina, OK to Andrew and Ida Porter Walton. She lived in this area all her life, attended Allen grade school and graduated from Allen High School.

She married Nathan F. Harjo July 15, 1977 in Ada. He preceded her in death January 24, 2018. Mrs. Harjo was the Pastor at Johnson Chapel United Methodist Church and also the Director of various Head Start Programs for over 30 years. She was a lifelong member of Johnson Chapel United Methodist Church, where being the Pastor was her passion. She also enjoyed Gospel Singing.

Survivors include two daughters, Melissa Harjo, Ada and Tara Baker and husband Kevin, Ada; a brother, H. B. Walton and wife Betty, Allen; two sisters, Vera Tims and husband Lester, Stonewall and Glenda Ischomer and husband Leroy, Ada; two granddaughters, Jacy Harjo and Emily Redbird, both of Ada; close niece, Brenda Hilinski, Dallas, TX;a brother-in-law, Al Brown, Lula; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a grandson, Eli Harjo; great-niece, Marissa Faith; and four sisters, Sue Walton, Sina Mae Ogg, Ella Walker and Jean Carnes.

Bearers will be Sherman Frazier, B. J. Leach, Rufus Gould, Major McHenry, Caleb Tebe and Phillip Harrison. Honorary bearers will be Chuck McHenry and Al Brown.
