SEMINOLE, Okla. —
Seminole resident Dexter Lee Davis passed from this life Sunday, Dec. 14, 2008.
He was born on Dec. 28, 1940 in Modesto, Calif., to Edwin Dexter and Jesse Lee (Chesser) Davis.
He married Catherine Harrison Oct. 31, 1957 in Modesto. To this union four children were born, Renee Nell(deceased), Sherrie Lee and Richard Sheppard of Shawnee, Melinda Gail and David Ray Loman of Maud, and Delmar Dexter Davis and Juli of Meeker.
Dexter served in the United States Air Force. He continued his education returning to school on the G.I. bill and graduated from SSC and ECU with a degree in Criminal Law.
He began his career in law enforcement with the Seminole Police Dept. in 1973 as a patrolman. he worked for Seminole for 20 years retiring. in 1993 as Asst. Chief of Police.
Police work was Dexter’s life and he dedicated his time and service to be on the best.
He leaves behind his wife of 51 years, Catherine of the home; three children, their spouses; nine grandchildren; and fourteen great grandchildren.
His last wishes were that his friends remember him as he was during his police career. He did not want any formal services
