Maud resident Leonard Joe Alderson, Jr., 58, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 4, 2009.
Leonard was born on July 22, 1950, in Blackwell, Okla., to Leonard Joe Alderson and Charlotte A. (Rhodd) Alderson. He married Frankie Jo LeClair on Dec. 1, 1970 in Paris, Texas.
He is survived by his mother, Charlotte Alderson of Maud, Okla.; one son, Travis Sean Alderson of Maud, Okla. one daughter, Summer Artensia Alderson of Shawnee; one sister, Charlotte Ann Shelley of Maud; a special friend, Pam Adams; two grandchildren; father-in-law, Franklin LeClair and mother-in-law, Virginia Plumley.
He was preceded in death by his father, Leonard Joe Alderson, and by his wife, Frankie Jo Alderson.
Funeral services are scheduled for 10 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 8, 2009, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Konawa, Okla., under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Konawa. A rosary service is scheduled for 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 7, at the Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Konawa. Father Adrian Vorderlandwehr, OSB, will officiate. Soloists are Danny Khoury and Sandra Mitchell. Pallbearers are Frankie Walker, Mark Copeland, Billy Freeman, Wichita Blaine, Larry Bear, Fussy Lowery, and Burt Talbear. Honorary pallbearers are Donnie Bailey and Donald Fry.
