Wewoka resident Ray Ernest Shultz, 82, passed from this life Wednesday,
Jan. 7, 2009 at his home in Wewoka.
He was born Feb 16, 1926 in Olney, Ill. to parents Frank Ernest Shultz and Nora (Curtis) Shultz.
Ray served in the United States Navy earning the rank of coxswain USNR. He also received Asiatic Pacific Area Campaign Medal, the Philippine Liberation Ribbon with three stars, the Victory Medal and the American Campaign Medal. He married Willene Pricer on Jan. 19, 1955 in Pawnee, Oklahoma. She preceded him in death on Dec. 9, 2006.
Ray and Willene both worked for Joe Mill's Well Service in Seminole. Ray retired in 1988 after many years of dedicated service.
Survivors include his loving family: three sons and daughters-in-law,
Rob Shultz of Wewoka, Okla., Doug and Pat Shultz of Oklahoma City, Okla, Brad and Tammie Shultz of Prague, Okla.; one daughter, Raylene Shultz of Wewoka, Okla.; one brother, O. E. "Bud" Shultz of Noble, Ill.; two sisters, Helen
Beam of Ashland, Ill. and Ruth Fulk of Ashland, Ill.; two granddaughters, Megan Shultz of Prague and Kara Shultz of Oklahoma City, Okla. and a host of other family and dear friends.
Graveside services are scheduled for 3:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 9, 2009 at Little Cemetery North of Seminole. The Rev. David Pollard will officiate the service. The United States Navy Honor Guard will provide military Honors. Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Okla.
