Funeral services for longtime Seminole resident Jesse Thurman Nutter, Jr.
are scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday, May 15, 2009 at the First Baptist Church, in
Seminole with Dr. Tommy Clark officiating. Burial will follow at Little
Cemetery with services under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home,
Seminole. Jesse passed away on Tuesday, May 12, 2009, at the age of 92, at Seminole
Estates Nursing Home in Seminole. He was born April 7, 1917 to Jesse and Delsia
(Williams) Nutter, in Montpelier, Indiana. On August 26, 1937 in Stonewall, Oklahoma, he married Corene Gibson. Over his life, Jesse worked for many years in the oil fields in Oklahoma and Texas. Most of those who worked with or under Jesse appreciated him as a boss and as a friend. He retired from KWB Oil Property, in Seminole. He loved fishing, camping, and going in his travel trailer to area lakes. Jesse loved his family, church, working in the oilfield, visiting with friends and enjoying life. His parents and one sister, Martha Wilson, preceded Jesse in death. He is survived by his wife of more than 71 years, Corene; one sister, Joan Douglas, of Paden; three daughters, Sue and husband Dale Streater, of Kellyville, Kaye and husband Jimmie Allen, of Jones and Beth and husband Jeff Davis of Little; and one son, Jim and wife Donna Nutter of Seminole. Also surviving Jesse are 12 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Pallbearers will be grandsons: Jay Allen, Gred Nutter, Chad Streater, Jesse Davis, Matt Allen, and Dirk Streater.
