SHAWNEE, Okla. —
Geneva Maxine (Brown) Larney, 85 year-old Shawnee resident passed from this life Friday, Dec. 5, 2008 at her home in Shawnee. She was born April 2, 1923 in Skiatook, Okla., to John Brown and Minnie (Littlejim) Brown.
Geneva married Lee Larney on June 1, 1942 in Oklahoma City. He preceded her in death on Nov. 10, 2000. She was a homemaker and a member of Hitchitee United Methodist Church. Geneva had lived most of her life in the Seminole and Shawnee area.
Geneva was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two daughters and by one grandson.
Survivors include five sons, Nathaniel Larney of Oklahoma City, Walter Larney of Wewoka, Alan Larney, Rocky Larney and Darrel Larney, all of Shawnee; seven daughters, Nevalee Deere, Billie Jean Grass, Flora Larney, and Jena Masquas, all of Shawnee, Harriette Starr of Oklahoma City, Lonita Stewart of Little Axe and Nema Faye Larney of Oklahoma; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren; Geneva is also survived by a host of other family and friends.
A wake service will be held at Hitchitee United Methodist Church 6 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 7, and funeral service will be held 1 p.m., Monday, Dec. 8, a t Hitchitee United Methodist Church. Burial will follow at Hitchitee Cemetery.
Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma.
