Robert "Bob" Young Weir
April 12, 1930 - March 10, 2025
Services to remember and celebrate the life of Robert Young "Bob" Weir will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, March 15, 2025, at Bible Church of Owasso, Owasso, OK. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Oologah, OK where Bob will be laid to rest beside his wife Charlotte. Bob came face to face with his Lord Jesus on Monday, March 10, 2025, in Claremore, OK. He was 94.
Bob was born in Parkville, MO on April 12, 1930, to Robert Harold and Genevieve Winetta (Young) Weir. Bob was raised and educated in his birth community and graduated from Parkville High School. On March 8, 1952, in Tulsa, OK, Bob married the love of his life Charlotte Corley. Their marriage was gifted with 4 children, Steve, Russ, Terri, and Duke. After being honorably discharged from the military, Bob provided for his children by starting his own company - American Builders Supply, then working in the Real Estate Industry as a commercial and residential builder and real estate appraiser. He was also instrumental in computerizing the Multi List for real estate agents as well as starting the Shown by Owner way of selling your home. He worked until he was 88 and retired to care for his wife Charlotte.
A man that led by example and by the instruction he found in God's Word, Bob was a man of great integrity and was uncompromising in doing what was right. Those were characteristics Bob possessed even before he came to know the Lord as his personal Savior, but his life and priorities were transformed when he gave his life to Christ. He was known for always being positive and finding the good in everybody no matter how hard you had to look to see it. If you ever got to visit with Bob, it didn't take him very long to turn the conversation to the things that were eternal. He made sure before that conversation was finished that you knew about his Lord and Savior. It was a conversation and story Bob liked to tell, and he received much joy and loved to share that all his children and their spouses faithfully serve the Lord.
Bob had an opinion of just about everything and being able to sell ice to Eskimos-- Bob was one who could always be counted on. He was a true prayer warrior and prayed for each of his family on a specific day of the week. He faithfully served in whatever church he was attending. He served as an Elder, but perhaps the position he enjoyed the most was being a door greeter at church. One thing was for certain, he made sure you had your name tag and that you were on time.
Bob was his children and grandchildren's biggest fan and supported them at all their events. He loved his family unconditionally and delighted in the family's traditional gatherings at Memoria Day, Labor Day, as well as Christmas dinner at the Hammett House. He was an amazing man of God. He left a great legacy of loving, serving, generosity, leading his family and sharing Christ with others. He was instrumental in pointing countless souls to the saving grace of Jesus Christ. Bob truly was an example of the power of one life.
Bob is survived by his children, Steve Weir and wife Pam, Russ Weir and wife Kelly, Terri Maltsberger and husband Joe, Duke Weir and wife Ann, special niece, Anne Wykoff and husband Larry, grandchildren Micah Maltsberger and wife Bruna, Jared Weir and wife Sarah, Morgan Bogart and husband Phillip, Lindsay Fetters and husband Chris, Kristin Harris and husband Eric, Huston Weir and wife Tia, Courtney Weir, Maggie Richards and husband Chris, Caleb Weir and wife Holly, Michael Weir, Kelsey Corado and husband Pete, Jonathon Wykoff and wife Shinae, Sara MacNicol and husband Casey, Steven Wykoff and over 30 great grandchildren, Bob was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 69 years Charlotte, grandson, Mitchell Maltsberger, brothers, Bill Harvey and Charlie Weir
