Roberta Valentine "Dolly" Minor
October 2, 1941 - March 29, 2026
Claremore

Roberta Valentine Johnston was born October 2, 1941, to RL and Valentine Belle (Fagg) Johnston and went home to be with her heavenly family on March 29, 2026.

She was quickly nicknamed "The Doll" by older brother Cecil, which stuck. Dolly assisted with the family farm chores and was nanny and friend to nieces and nephews. She attended Talala and Oologah schools where she enjoyed playing basketball and met lifelong friends Maryland (Forbes) Sisk and Helen (Beufink) Hamblin, graduating in 1959.

She married her partner of 67 years, Ray Minor, on May 22, 1959. Dolly was a homemaker, wife, and mother, a devoted friend to many, and a faithful church member.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers Kenneth, Tom, Leo, Ross, Cecil, and Joe; her sisters Mavis, Leanna, Dortha; and her son David. In-laws Bernice, Lavern, Joanna, Gayle, Maxine, Buster, Jim, Ernest (Unk), and her daughter-in-law Joann also preceded her in death. Dolly is survived by her husband Ray Minor, her daughter Sheila Hazelwood, three grandchildren, three grand-in-laws, nine great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. Two sisters-in-law, Nell and Wilma.

In addition to the direct family tree, Dolly cherished her brothers- and sisters-in-law and numerous nieces and nephews, three and four generations down. She made sure they all knew how much she loved them every chance she got and never forgot a birthday - known as her superpower.

Her love didn't stop there. She was quick to adopt friends into her family. Many kids called her Granny, not just her own grandchildren. She also became Aunt Dolly or sister to many more.

She showed her great capacity for love to friends and family alike, and the world is just a little dimmer without her.

Visitation: Saturday, April 4, 2026, 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm, the Collinsville Dolton Funeral Home.
