Mildred Ruth (Gregory) Elam
Mildred was born February 23, 1921 in Chelsea, Oklahoma to John Houston and Attie Mae (DeLozier) Gregory. She attended Sunnyside School thru her elementary years. She finished her education in Chelsea graduating in 1939.
Mildred married Leroy Elam on May 18, 1940 in Vinita, Oklahoma. He resides of the home in Chelsea, Oklahoma. She was a homemaker and has lived in this area all her life. She loved football season, especially watching OU and The Dallas Cowboys. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, and loved her large family gatherings. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Chelsea, Oklahoma.
Mildred's 1st day in Heaven was on Thursday evening September 13, 2007. Her parents, two brothers Graden Gregory and Floyd Garton, three sisters Dalma Lee, Wauelette Rule, and Beulah Robinson, and three grandchildren Gregory Elam, Gregory Riley, and David Leroy Elam preceded her.
A very special heartfelt thank you to Donna K. Elam, Stacey England, and Taylor England with the loving care they given to Leroy's wife and our mother. This made her last days less painful. Also, a special thanks to Serenity Hospice and Charlie Kellehan.
She is survived by: Her Husband: Leroy Elam of Chelsea, Oklahoma Three Sons: Jim Elam and wife Renee of Claremore, Oklahoma Jerry Elam and wife Carol of Chelsea, Oklahoma Roy Elam of Owasso, Oklahoma Three Daughters: Nelda Dake of Claremore, Oklahoma Diana Miller and husband Ronnie of Claremore, Oklahoma Betty Mitchell and husband Larry of Claremore, Oklahoma Twenty Grand Children, Thirty-eight Great Grand Children, and Seven Great Great Grand Children. And a Host of other Relatives and Friends
Funeral Service: Monday, 2:00 PM, September 17, 2007 at the First Baptist Church in Chelsea, Oklahoma. Burial in the Dawes Cemetery in Chelsea, Oklahoma Under the Direction of Seaman - Blanke Funeral Service of Chelsea, Oklahoma
