Clarence Joe Martin
Clarence Joe Martin was born on January 9, 1926 in Catale, Oklahoma to Cliff and Cecil Rebecca (Dodson) Martin. He attended Sunnyside and Chelsea Schools. He also attended NEO A & M, Oklahoma State University and Northeastern State University, graduating with a teaching degree. Joe taught school in Catale, Alluwe and Chelsea before retiring from teaching. Joe served in the United States Army, Company C 254th Infantry 63rd Division from July 26, 1944 until October 25th, 1945. He received the Combat Infantryman Badge, Purple Heart and the European African Middle Easter Service Medal. Joe was wounded in the European Theater February 4, 1945.
He married Imagene Falling on July 30, 1949. They made their home in Chelsea where they raised their children.
Joe died Thursday night December 27, 2007 at Claremore Regional.
He was preceded in death by his Parents: Cliff and Cecil Rebecca Martin, son Paul Joe Martin, brothers: Clifford Eugene Martin, William Cecil Martin, Lincoln Abner (John) Martin and sister, Margaret "Sis" Pearl Estes.
He is survived by. Wife: Imagene Martin of the home in Chelsea, Oklahoma. Three Sons: Donald Cliff Martin of Chelsea, Oklahoma. Cecil Eugene Martin and wife Letha of Chelsea, Oklahoma. James Earl Martin and wife Amy of Sterling Heights, Michigan. Adopted Daughter: Janet Kay Morgan and husband Dennis of Muskogee, Oklahoma. One Daughter In Law Belinda Hoodenpyle of Chelsea, Oklahoma. One Brother: Howard "Jack" Martin and wife Ella Dean of Vista, California. Ten Grandchildren and Five Great grandchildren. And Numerous loving Nieces & Nephews, along with a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral Service: 2:00 Friday January 4th at the First Baptist Church in Chelsea, Oklahoma with Reverend Gerald Biswell Officiating. Burial will follow in the Chelsea Cemetery under the direction of Seaman - Blanke Funeral Service of Chelsea, Oklahoma.
