Cynthia Joy "Cindy" Massey
October 5, 1961 - October 9, 2020

A graveside service celebrating and remembering the life of Cynthia Joy "Cindy" Massey will be 2:30 p.m., Wednesday, October 14, 2020 at the Chelsea Cemetery. Cindy passed away on Friday, October 9, 2020 in Oklahoma City. She was 59. The family has entrusted DeLozier Funeral Service with Cindy's care.

Born in Rolla, Missouri on October 5, 1961 to Garrett and Wanda (Dickens) Davis, Cindy was raised and educated in Chelsea. She graduated with the Class of 1979. Cindy continued her education and received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Information and Operations Management from UCO in Edmond. On August 9, 1980, Cindy married the love of her life, Ralph Massey, in a wedding ceremony at the First Baptist Church in Chelsea. Their union was gifted with three daughters, Jennifer, Jessica and Cassidy. Cindy contributed to the family finances working in the IT department for Kerr McGee Corporation for 18 years. She completed her work career with American Fidelity before health reasons forced her to take early retirement.

A lady that found the simple pleasures of life to be the most rewarding, Cindy was an avid bird watcher. Her backyard was filled with several kinds of bird feeders. She enjoyed reading, especially mystery novels and Harry Potter. She was a huge supporter of Amazon shopping and when the packages finally arrived it was always like Christmas morning. She liked smoking different kinds of meat with her husband Ralph and trying different recipes. Cindy and Ralph raised chickens even though they were more like pets. They both loved the farm fresh eggs.

The times her family were all able to be together were the times she most treasured. When grandchildren came along it might be said "Nana" became Cindy's favorite word. She excelled at being a wife, mother and Nana, and made sure each of her family knew just how much she loved them. No story about Cindy would be complete unless you mentioned her west highland terrier "Shelby". Shelby brought her countless hours of enjoyment and she was the perfect companion.

Cindy has left a legacy that will not only live on in the lives of her family but in the countless friendships she has made over the years. Cindy is survived by her husband, Ralph, daughters, Jennifer Steward and husband Nick, Jessica Stupka and husband Wayne and Cassidy Massey, grandchildren, Everett and Lincoln Steward, Peyton Massey and Louella Stupka, mother, Wanda Davis, brother, Gary Davis and wife Jody, sister, Valerie Pattion and husband Toy, numerous nieces and nephews, and her grand fur babies, Coconut and Barley. Cindy was preceded in death by her father, Garrett Davis, and mother and father-in-law, Asa and Louella Massey.
