Goldie Mae Lefter was born on Wednesday, July 14, 1915 in Pond Creek, Oklahoma to Patrick and Elsie Anna (Bennett) Lefter. In 1916 her family moved 4 miles south of Chelsea to make their home where she attended Chelsea Schools.
She married Osborne A. Beck on July 17, 1933 in Independence Kansas. In December of 1933 they moved to Missouri to make their home. They had eight children, six boys and two girls. Her husband, Osborne, died Aug. 17, 1968. She was also preceded in death by two sons Lowell & Jimmie and two grandchildren Chad Alan and Ski.
She was a member of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter Day Saints and attended The Community of Christ Church in Vinita, Oklahoma. She was baptized on June 21, 1936 in Missouri.
She died Tuesday morning March 11, 2008 at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Blue Springs, Missouri.
She is survived by: Four Sons: Ozzie Beck of Panorama City, California, Wesley Beck of Cheyenne, Wyoming, Joseph Beck of Independence, Missouri, Thomas Beck of Kellyville, Oklahoma; Two Daughters: Bertha Baird of Independence, Missouri, Frances Melton of Hartsville, South Carolina; 39 Grandchildren and 17 Great Grandchildren; And a host of other relatives and friends.
